NRC suspend train services nationwide over presidential elections
NRC suspends Warri-itakpe train operations
The Nigerian Railway Corporation (NRC) has announced the suspension of train services nationwide because of the forthcoming general elections. The suspension of the train services will be from Saturday, February 25 to Monday, February 27, 2023.
In a pess release made available to Business A.M and signed by Mahmood Yakub, deputy director, public relations, the NRC said “in view of the forthcoming presidential election in the country, the board and management of Nigerian Railway Corporation (NRC), hereby inform the general public, particularly our valued passengers of the temporary suspension of train services from Saturday, February 25th to Monday, February 27th, 2023, to enable Nigerians exercise their civic responsibilities.
“These train services include; Abuja-Kaduna Train Service (AKTS), Warri-Itakpe Train Service (WITS), Lagos-lbadan Train Service (LITS), and Iddo Lagos-ljoko interstate Mass Transit passengers’ train services”.
Yakub stated that however, the management of NRC assures the general public of the normal train services recommencement on Tuesday, February 28th, 2023″.
