NADDC DG Commends JIM Isuzu Pick-Up Quality During Visit to WAAS

The Director-General of the National Automotive Design and Development Council, Joseph Oluwemimo Osanipin, has lauded the quality, durability, comparative affordability and local market suitability of the JIM Isuzu Pickup vehicles.

Speaking during a tour of exhibitors pavilion, shortly after declaring the 3-day Automotive show open, Osanipin described the JIM Isuzu Pickup as a product that aligns with the Federal Government’s vision of strengthening Nigeria’s automotive industry through quality vehicle assembly, local content development and improved mobility solutions.

The NADDC boss expressed satisfaction with the engineering standards, ruggedness and adaptability of the vehicles to Nigerian road and operational conditions, noting that the product demonstrates the growing capacity of local automotive stakeholders to deliver globally competitive vehicles.

According to him, “l have also driven the JIM Isuzu Pickup many times and l can say that the JIM Pickup is one product that guarantees prospective buyers return on investment (Rol).

According to him, the Nigerian automotive sector is gradually witnessing a transformation driven by increased private sector investments, improved assembly operations and stronger partnerships between global brands and local operators.

Osanipin emphasized that, the NADDC remains committed to supporting credible automotive companies that are investing in vehicle assembly, technology transfer, manpower development and after sales support in Nigeria and CedricMasters, local assemblers of the JIM Pickup brand is one of such of local automotive assemblers.

“The quality of this Pick-up is impressive and clearly designed with durability and functionality in mind. What we are seeing here today reflects the kind of progress the Nigerian automotive industry needs to sustain,” the NADDC stated.

He further stressed that reliable utility vehicles such as the JIM would play critical roles across sectors including logistics, agriculture, construction, security operations and small business transportation.

He also reiterated the importance of patronising locally assembled vehicles, saying such support would help stimulate industrial growth, create jobs and deepen automotive value-chain development in the country.

On his part, Eze Igwe, general manger of Cedric Motors reaffirmed the company’s commitment to delivering high-quality vehicles tailored to the Nigerian market.

He noted that the JIM Isuzu pick-up combines performance, fuel efficiency, rugged suspension and driver comfort, making it suitable for both commercial and personal applications.

Industry stakeholders believe the endorsement from the NADDC Director-General further strengthens confidence in Nigeria’s growing automotive assembly ecosystem and reinforces the need for sustained collaboration between government agencies and private investors.
