How to maintain the engine of your car
The engine of your vehicle is subjected to intense voltages. Diesel or petrol , it’s important to take care of your car’s engine. To optimize its operation and extend its service life, you must change the oil every 5,000 km to 7,500 km depending on the age of the vehicle.
Engine oil helps lubricate all parts and cleans the engine of dirt. So remember to check the oil level to avoid damaging the engine mechanics.
Whether your car is equipped with a petrol or diesel engine, the ideal is to have the vehicle serviced every 8 months. Beyond the technical control or the traditional draining, there are a certain number of points to check: change the oil filter, the pollen filter, check the condition of the battery, monitor the brake fluid, check the timing belt and hoses .
Every 3 years or 60,000 km, change the spark plugs on petrol engines and the diesel filter on diesel engines. Be aware that a dirty filter or old spark plugs can lead to overconsumption of fuel . Bad for your engine, bad for your wallet …
So keep your eyes open and watch for the first signs of weakness in your motor. It may be time to drop by your garage for a check-up.
