Aviators Africa Leadership CEO’s Forum, Tower Awards next month

Aviators Africa has announced programmes of event for its 3rd Leadership CEO’s Forum and Tower Awards holding  between October 27 and 28 at Radisson Blu Anchorage, Victoria Island, Lagos. The theme for this year’s conference is :Corporate Governance: A pathway to sustainability in African Aviation.

Convener of the event, who is also the publisher of Aviators Africa, Toni Ukachukwu, at a briefing, which held virtually, said the theme of the event was chosen because it has been discovered that leadership roles and contributions were very significant to the development of aviation on the continent.

He noted for instance, that many lofty ideas such as Single African Air Transport Market (SAATM) and others may not work unless leaders in the sector are committed to the development of aviation.

“We came up with this in order to discuss issues that affect African Aviation, we have not really paid attention to corporate governance, the platform will bring leaders together to proffer solution to the issues”, he said. Ukachukwu disclosed that the platform will also be holding its first awards known as Tower Awards.

He said this is to recognise companies, brands and individuals who have contributed immensely to the sector. Nominations for categories like Community building award, Sustainability award; Change maker, Corporate governance, Air connectivity awards and Hall of Fame, would open for two weeks from September1, 2021 on the website: www.theaviatorsafrica.com/awards before voting commences.

According to him, two individuals, a male and female would be inducted into the Hall of Fame while a posthumous award would be given to David Aher, a foremost aviator and founder, Tuscar Aero Consulting. African Airlines Association (AFRAA) Secretary General, Abdrahmane Berthe, among other African Aviation leaders are expected at the event.
