ALCMAN to launch Automated Vehicle Spare Parts Platform 2026

Next year 2026 looks very upbeat in Nigeria as the Auto Component Manufacturers Association of Nigeria (ACMAN) has concluded plans to launch an automated platform ensuring that auto assemblers in Nigeria have access to vehicle spare parts for after sales service in the country.

ACMAN Chairman, Anselm Ilekuba revealed this while delivering a keynote address at the Nigeria Auto Journalists Association (NAJA) Awards night held on Tuesday at Oriental Hotel, Victoria Island, Lagos.

Acknowledging ACMAN’s role in meeting local content and component manufacturing needs, he said his members are prepared to deliver.

“We are the live wire of assemblers. You won’t know that if we go on strike today—your vehicles will lack quality aftersales service component parts. We thank the NADDC DG because he saddled us with a very serious responsibility to solve this problem of Nigerians asking every assembler here, ‘Do you have component parts for your vehicle?’ I believe you hear that a lot,” he stated.

“I want to announce that ACMAN, with NADDC, has come up with a solution that will work in 2026. We have grown an automated platform where every assembler will key in and post their available parts. At the click of one button, every user will see the parts. Every assembler registered with NADDC—along with our members—has started producing and perfecting their output to serve aftersales needs and qualify for acceptance in the credible replacement process as we begin deleting imported parts.

“So next year, that platform will launch, and every assembler will come on board. We are going to link everybody. One of the donor agencies is seriously supporting this initiative to ensure it continues to grow. We will visit India and South Africa to sign partnership agreements that will help this platform succeed. Before the DG of NADDC finishes his first tenure, we want to see how many percent we meet in the African Continental Free Trade Area in terms of component manufacturing and availability.

“We thank NAJA for inviting us, and we hope that with our collaboration with the promotion agencies in this hall today, by this time next year NAJA will recognize the component manufacturers working hard behind the scenes to make the automotive industry great,” he added.
