Dangote diesel, Jet -A1 fuel hit to local market January

Dangote Petroleum Refinery on Friday commenced production, starting with diesel and aviation fuel.

President of the Dangote Group, Aliko Dangote, in a statement said the products would hit the market this month after receiving regulatory approvals.

This came following the delivery of six million barrels of crude to the refinery.
It is the largest single-train refinery in the world located in Nigeria’s commercial hub, Lagos.

Aliko Dangote, in the statement on Friday was quoted as saying, “We have started the production of diesel and aviation fuel, and the products will be in the market within this month once we receive regulatory approvals.

“This is a big day for Nigeria. We are delighted to have reached this significant milestone. This is an important achievement for our country as it demonstrates our ability to develop and deliver large capital projects.

“This is a game changer for our country, and I am very fulfilled with the actualisation of this project.” He thanked President Bola Tinubu for his support in making the dream come true.

Dangote said, “This production, as witnessed today, would not have been possible without his visionary leadership and prompt attention to details.

“His intervention at various stages cleared all impediments thereby accelerating the actualisation of the project.

Damgote also thanked NNPC, NUPRC and NMDPRA for their support, saying thst these organisations have been the company’s dependable partners in the historic journey. The group also thanked Nigerians for their belief and support in the project.

So far, the refinery has received six million barrels of crude oil at its two SPMs located 25 kilometres from the shore. The first crude delivery was on December 12, 2023, and the sixth cargo was delivered on January 8, 2024.
The refinery can load 2,900 trucks a day at its truck-loading gantries.
