Lamborghini presents the Sián Roadster
Lamborghini presents the decapsulated version of its Sián supercar with the limited edition Lamborghini Sián Roadster, and still the V12 hybrid.
Hurry up, there won’t be one for everyone! 19 units, not one more. Ah, we are told that the 19 are already sold out. It’s life.
The Lamborghini Sián Roadster is obviously the Sián, but without the roof. Aesthetically, not too many changes, the current Lamborghini line lends itself rather well to the removal of the roof. On this Sián, you could even say that it lightens a line that can be clumsy from certain angles (3/4 rear). The front remains very marked with the light signature in Y, and the black “cutout” (in carbon) in triangle in which it is inserted visually.
Note that the Sián Roadster is unveiled in a color known as “Blue Uranus”. At this price level, the customer can choose the color of his choice defined with the “Ad Personam” department which will concoct your tailor-made Lambo. The interior of the model presented is in “Glauco Blue” with aluminum “Gold Electrum”. Lamborghini specifies that certain parts being printed in 3D, it is possible to put for example your initials there on request… The rims are in “Gold Electrum” to signify electrification (sic.).
Electrification is of course that of the engine. Here, we resume the engine of the Sián FKP 37 (the coupe) , namely an atmospheric V12 of last generation helped by a light hybrid part 48 volt. The electric motor delivers 34 horsepower and is incorporated in the gearbox. In addition to lower consumption, this also allows the Sián Roadster to maneuver at low speed in 100% electric. The slots in front of the Casino de Monaco will only be more enjoyable.
As a reminder, the Sián does not use a litihum-ion battery for its hybrid part but “super capacitors”. These condos have the advantage of being denser (about three times) and therefore of limiting the overweight of the electrical part. Motor + super capacitors + cables and electronics, there is 34 kg of mass in addition “only”. They can also be loaded and unloaded under the same power and this makes the braking recharge very efficient and quick. The electrical part disconnects beyond 130 km / h.
In the end, the Sián Roadster develops 785 thermal horsepower released by the V12 to which are added the 34 horsepower of the electrical part. 819 horsepower for a 0 to 100 km / h in 2.9 seconds and a vmax of 350 km / h (limited we say). According to Lamborghini, the car without the hybrid system would be 10% slower.
The transmission is always on all four wheels and they are also all four steering. The suspensions are magneto-rheological “pushrods” which allow fine control of the damping.
Let’s be a little vulgar and talk about prices and consumption. Well … we don’t know. The engine complies with Euro6 – LEV 3 (if yes) but “the fuel consumption and emissions data are at the type approval stage”. This is always the message, even for the Sián FKP 37.
For the price, knowing that the Sián FKP 37 was already “horribly expensive” and limited to 63 copies, imagine with only 19 copies, all fully personalized. In mid-March, Mansory put one of the 63 Sián coupes on sale for 3.8 million euros. For the record, the car was not yet delivered. All we know is that it takes more than 2 million euros before tax to pay for a coupe version. You will add a small penalty of € 20,000 on the invoice, right?
