Mercedes Benz to introduce touch sensitive steering wheel
The 2021 Mercedes Benz E-Class, biggest-selling model series of all time will be rolled out with a new touch sensitive steering wheel with a redesigned exterior styling and new powertrains. this summer.
According to reports, the steering wheel will have two-zone sensor that is to say the steering rim can tell if the driver’s hands are on the steering wheel, meaning movement isn’t required to tell the vehicle’s driver-assist systems that the car is under control.
There is also a touch-control buttons on the spokes that work with digital signals thus the steering wheel has three configuration Sport, Luxury, and Supersport.
The Supersport features a flat bottom and a three-spoke design. The Luxury steering wheel features three spokes that Mercedes says are meant to be shaped like the calla lily.
Adaptive cruise control, automated emergency braking, blind-spot monitoring, and park assist where additional drivers assistance system in the E-class.
The 2021 E-class is expected to be in the market by end of 2020.
