FG closes section of Third Mainland Bridge for repairs Monday
The federal government says four ramps connecting Adekunle to the Third Mainland Bridge will be closed down for “comprehensive repairs”.The four ramps will be closed down by 7am on Monday.
Last October, the federal government commenced palliative repair of failed sections of the Third Mainland Bridge.
Nigerians have been lamenting the state of the bridge, with long stretches of the 11.8-kilometre road riddled with crater-sized potholes.
In a statement ocer the weekend, cd Olukorede Kesha, the federal controller of works in Lagos, appealed to motorists to obey traffic F during the repairs.
“The federal government, through the federal ministry of works, wishes to inform the #x d< #public that the government has perfected plans to carry out comprehensive repairs of Third Mainland Bridge in Lagos,” Kesha said.
“In view of the above, the motoring public is, hereby, notified that all four ramps connecting Adekunle to Third Mainland Bridge will be closed at the same time going forward.
“Consequently, motorists are, hereby, advised to use alternative routes while cooperating with the traffic management officials deployed to manage traffic and ensure hitch-free movement”.
