To combat soaring inflation and foreign exchange challenges that are pricing brand new vehicles out of the reach of many Nigerians, Toyota (Nigeria) Limited is pivoting to more budget-friendly and fuel-efficient models.

The Japanese automaker’s franchise in Nigeria also offered customer-friendly initiatives and special discounts during the last 2026 Toyota Motorshow held at The Podium, Lekki, Lagos showcase events to help ease the burden of vehicle ownership.

The high cost of imported vehicles has reshaped the national auto market, leading many Nigerians to opt for local Nigerian-used cars. To adapt, Toyota has rolled out several strategic initiatives that heralds
new budget-friendly models.

The company is bringing in smaller, more economical models such as the Starlet Cross and hybrid variants like the Mini Land Cruiser to cater to the demand for versatile and fuel-efficient transportation.

Showcase Discounts:

During special solo exhibitions and anniversaries, Toyota Nigeria provided exclusive discounts on new vehicle purchases, genuine spare parts, and after-sales to
maintenance to reduce long-term ownership costs.

CNG Partnerships: Toyota is actively pursuing local assembly and Compressed Natural Gas (CNG) retrofitting partnerships to offer more cost-effective fueling options to Nigerian drivers.

Expanded Service Footprint:

The brand continues to expand its dealer network across Lagos and the rest of the country to ensure buyers can keep their vehicles on the road for longer.
