NiMet Reiterates Commitment to Sustain ISO Standards
The Nigerian Meteorological Agency (NiMet), has reiterated its commitment in maintaining the ISO 9001:2015 standards through its biannual QMS internal audit and other requisite measures.
This was disclosed recently by the Head of the NiMet QMS team, Mr. Ibrahim Ishiyaku, during its Quality Management System (QMS) Internal Audit at the Mallam Aminu Kano International Airport Kano.
He said the Agency has ensured strict implementation of the ISO 9001:2015 standards at the four international airports, and that it is imperative to conduct a QMS internal audit to ensure that the ISO standard is strictly adhered.
While stressing the importance of conducting the audit, Mr. Ishiyaku disclosed that the audit exercise assists in identifying the gaps or loopholes that would amount to nonconformity of the ISO standards during the external audit, which takes place annually.
The exercise, which is a mandatory requirement of the ISO 9001:2015, holds at the four international airports, namely Kano, Abuja, Lagos and Port Harcourt Airports respectively and has commenced with the Kano Airport.
