India records zero car sales due to Corona Virus
Corona Virus pandemic around the globe have disrupted economic activities and have affected many countries since many are on lock down. The Indian automobile industry is one of the sectors hit by the Corona Virus pandemic.
According to reports, India recorded zero sales of cars in the month of April due to lock down declared by the Indian government on 25th March 2020.
Records from Society of Indian Automobile Manufacturers (SIAM) indicates that auto manufacturers in India sold 2,773,575 passenger cars between the financial year 2019 and 2020 alone but was unable to sell any car within India in April 2020.
Obviously the 2020-2021 financial year will experience a drop in the sales of cars within India as a result of the Corona virus pandemic.
Unfortunately, auto dealers in India will remain shut down till May 17th
