HAWA presents locally built all-new HRV to NADDC
In furtherance of creating awareness on what they are doing locally in the automotive sector, the management of Honda Automobile West Africa (HAWA) team led by the managing director, Takashi Nakajima on May 30, 2023, presented the new locally asembled Honda HRV to Jelani Aliyu, MFR, director-general, National Automotive Design & Development Council (NADDC) MFR, at the headquarters in Abuja.
While making a demonstration of the vehicle, Remi Adams, the company’s sales manager, explained that the vehicle designed with versatility and precision for thr Nigerian roads was put together inside the Honda Autommobile West Africa assembly plant in Otta, Ogun state.
In his remarks, Jelani Aliyu said “This is yet another milestone for the Nigerian automotive sector. These Honda vehicles are of the same standards as any high quality vehicle produced anywhere in the world, and we will continue to support local production in line with the National Automotive Industry Development Plan (NAIDP)”.
According to the NADDC chief, “The NAIDP is a set of fiscal and non-fiscal incentives, programs and initiatives to support exponential growth in the production of world-class automobiles in Nigeria, such as this new 2023 Honda HRV, in the march towards creating 1 million jobs in the Nigerian auto sector’’.
