Mercedes-Benz is working on six electric cars
Mercedes-Benz gives a taste of the electric cars it is working on. The manufacturer shows camouflaged versions of the EQS, EQE and EQS SUV. These cars are to be released in 2021 and 2022 and are based on a new electric platform.
The Mercedes-Benz EQS is a luxurious model in the S-class and based on the concept that the manufacturer showed last year. Mercedes-Benz will also make an EQE based on the same platform, which is a slightly smaller car that is comparable to models from the E-class.
Both models should be released in 2021 and a year later, SUV variants of both versions will also be released. Mercedes-Benz does not yet provide concrete technical details. In an announcement , the German car brand speaks of a range of up to 700 kilometers, measured on the basis of the WLTP standard.
The upcoming EQS, EQE and its SUV variants are the first cars to be based on the new platform that is fully set up for electric cars. Mercedes-Benz also continues to electrify existing platforms. Later this year, for example, the EQA will go into production, which is an electric variant of the GLA, a so-called crossover SUV. Production of the EQB will start next year. That is an electric version of the GLB-SUV.
