The Director General of the National Automotive Design & Development Council (NADDC) Chief Joseph Oluwemimo has once again assure that, the NADDC is laying strong and sustainable foundation for local assembled vehicles by Nigerians, for Nigerians

Speaking as a guest of honour during the last Summit at the Lagos Chamber of Commerce and Industry (LCCI) recently with the theme; “The Impact Of Non-Passage Of The NAIDP Into Law On The Automotive Industry”, the DG emphasized the pivotal role the National Automotive Design and Development Council (NADDC) is playing in order to ensure the early passage of the Nigerian Automotive Industry Development Policy (NAIDP) into law.

Osanipin disclosed that, working in close collaboration with the Federal Ministry of Industry, Trade and Investment and the Federal Ministry of Justice, NADDC have also received assurances from the Presidency toward the expedited passage of the NAIDP into law.

The NADDC boss declared that, for over a decade, the NAIDP has provided a strong framework for investment growth, technology transfer and local value creation. He maintained that, without legislative backing, the automotive industry will continue to face policy uncertainties that limit expansion and discourage long-term investment.

According to him, “Through continuous training, development of testing infrastructure and promotion of green innovation, we are laying the foundation for a future where Nigerians drive vehicles made in Nigeria, by Nigerians, for Nigeria and beyond”.

The NADDC director- general also extended his deep appreciation to Gabriel Idahosa, FCA and the leadership of the Lagos Chamber of Commerce and Industry for their steadfast partnership and commitment to advancing the national automotive agenda.

Together, we move closer to a future where sound policy drives productivity, innovation and shared prosperity. Osanipin concluded.
